Hotel Templ is located in the centre of the beautiful south-moravian town Mikulov directly below the castle in two neighbouring buildings next to The Baltazar pension.
Mikulov is, in the words of the poet Jan Skácel, "a piece of Italy moved to Moravia by God's hand." The mixture of Moravian, Jewish, and Austrian cultures together with strong influences from Italy, Slovakia and Hungary has led to the nascency of an unique architectural collage accented by the distinctive character and colour of hills and cliffs of Palava. The unique merging of architectural styles is being reflected in the changing look of the houses with its Renaissance foundations, Baroque reconstructions and Classical facades.
The former Michelshteter Synagogue from 16th century, nowadays Templ Hotel, has been reconstructed many times during the past as well. The art conception of the last reconstruction was an attempt to evoke impression of lyrical medieval and Hebrew archetypes to create a basic frame of the loose Renaissance atmosphere.
